The Commons

Image
This is a view of the commons when it snowed last Saturday.          I made this picture entirely out of watercolors (hence the sky). The evergreen trees have Christmas lights strung around them, and there is footprints of a person who walked in the snow.

A Surprise for Tanisha!

Image
This canvas is a Christmas gift for my cousin Tanisha. I asked her questions, and used her favorite animal (unicorns) and her favorite colors (pink and purple) to create an acrylic canvas.          This picture depicts the silhouette of a unicorn rearing up. The spirals of her horn and her hooves are highlighted with silver acrylic, whereas the ground and the unicorn itself is black. The sky is a sunset, with the pink sky blending up to purple. I used white acrylic to create three four-point stars on top of her horn. I used a fan brush to create grass for the ground. Due to lighting, the horn and the stars are not clearly visible. I will get a better picture.

Everything Else! Part 2

Image
This is all the artwork I have made that does not ave anything related to  my Saturday art classes. Please enjoy. :) This is an original idea by yours truly. The bird in the back is a phoenix. I call it, "Essence of the Phoenix." This is a color pencil/pencil piece. These are basic shapes I have for reference at the back of my portfolio. From left to right: circle, triangle, square, rectangle, spiral. This is a small comic I made. It is not finished. The story is about a wolf sent away from her pack. It is, as you can see, completely  made with pencils. This is one of those adult coloring book pages. In case you didn't notice, the shape is a paw print. This is completely made with markers. A color pencil version of a dolphin silhouette in a sunset. Didn't come out too good. The proportions on this picture isn't right, but doing the hair was fun. The best part is the shirt, though.  And that's it! Well, for now,

Everything Else! Part 1

Image
This is every other piece of art I have done that is in my portfolio. This post will be split into two parts. This is part one. My portfolio!  First picture done in my Saturday art classes! Made with oil pastels, and a 2B and 6B pencil. Campfire oil pastel done at home! Also uses a 2B and 6B pencil. Third's a charm! Another oil pastel/pencil piece. This is an abstarct art showing the sun and moon as one, with each background being the opposite of the heavenly body in that half. More oil pastels and pencils. Two swans under the moonlight. So serene. Even more oil pastels and pencils. A horse and a sunset. Perfect! Last oil pastel and 2B/6B picture. My first face/pencil sketch! First charcoal drawing! This is number eight! This is a combination of oil pastels and watercolor. The tree leaves are water color, whereas the sky and grass is oil pastels. The red tree on the left has a bit of green under it for double colora

Project Finished!

Image
Okay, so I finished the surrealism project MONTHS ago. But there was the visit from my cousin form India, then school, and art class and DI, and then, before I know it, Thanksgiving break, which was spent at my other cousin's house. But now, I have all the time in the world to post my pictures. Massive post publishing spree starts in.... 3.... 2....1.... Start!         Okay, so this is my finished canvas. I decided to send it with my aunt back to India as a gift for my uncle. Comment how I can improve future canvases! This picture is made with sky blue, white, silver, and metallic black acrylic paint.

New Project!

Before I post any artwork, I want you viewers to know about my second surrealist project. In school, we are creating surrealist pieces. Surrealism is when artwork is based off of dreamlike concepts. My art class teacher (out of school) will help me paint a surrealist piece on a canvas. I'll leave the idea a surprise, but I wanted to give a heads up. Stay tuned, America! Update: I've finished the first part of my surrealism project. Just a few more touch ups, and then onto the second part. Will post pictures of it (and other art) soon.

A Girl of Many Talents

I like to consider myself a girl of many talents, and justifiably so. I may not be well known, but that doesn't mean I can't do anything.         And this, in a twisted, weird way, brings us here. I have been 'blogging,' so to speak, since first grade, posting my writing and poetry and random thoughts whenever the time feels right. And now, three and a half years after I posted my first poem on  aditi's simple thoughts , Gallery of Imagination has come into the mix.         Dedicated entirely to my artwork, GoI will be updated whenever I produce a piece of artwork that is worthy of public view. I cannot guarantee a strict schedule, but I can promise at least one post a month, if all is well.          My main mediums for art are graphite and color pencils, thought I do dabble in acrylic and watercolor. If you are looking artwork with for mediums such as art markers or oil paints, then this is not for y ou.          And of course, please remember
